Ambitious Investment Programme for Morocco’s Railway System
ONCF (Morocco’s national railway operator) continues its ambitious railway investment program aimed at expanding, modernizing and strengthening the country’s rail network and rolling stock capabilities:
Infrastructure
- Construction of new HSL tracks (Tanger–Kénitra already operational)
- Future projects: extension to Marrakech, Casablanca, Agadir
- Includes civil engineering, railway platforms, and engineering structures
Signalling
- Installation of modern signalling systems
- Progressive integration of more advanced systems
Rolling Stock
Acquisitions include:
- 18 High-Speed Trains, awarded to French company ALSTOM
- 40 Intercity Trains, awarded to Spanish company CAF
- 110 RER Trains, awarded to South Korean Hyundai Rotem
All contracts include industrial compensation commitments: local industrial activities, including a local train manufacturing plant to support Morocco’s export ambitions.👉 LinkedIn Source

Gateway to Africa - Rail Industry Summit Morocco 2027
Rail Industry Summit Morocco is back on April 13th & 14th, 2027 in El Jadida. Morocco is positioning itself as the continent’s regional logistics hub. Delegations from several African countries will be attending to showcase their rail infrastructure projects. Together with our partners ONCF and MTI, we are bringing together the entire railway subcontracting sector to prepare for this major investment plan.
By exhibiting at the Rail Industry Summit, you will have the opportunity to connect not only with Moroccan stakeholders, but also with key decision-makers from across the African rail sector.

How does it work?
To participate in the Rail Industry Summit, you need to register!
- Register online (available soon) and fill out a company presentation form.
- Three weeks before the event, you will have access to the profiles of all participants and choose those you wish to meet.
- Taking into account the requests of all participants, abe will schedule your business meetings and personalize a meeting agenda for you over the 2-day event.
- You will attend the business convention: business meetings and conferences.
At the heart of the exchanges and meetings:
- Infrastructures: railway networks, signalling, stations, maintenance
- Rolling stock: motor equipment, vehicle structure, on-board equipment, vehicle interior design, maintenance, renovation
