This year, the ERCI - European Railway Clusters Initiative is once again presenting the ERCI Innovation Awards for innovations in rail systems technology.
Are you a company from the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region?
- Have you recently developed an innovative product/project or an innovative service for use in the rail transport sector?
- Are you on the verge of launching this innovation on the market or already beyond (TRL=7 or higher)?
Then apply by 12 May 2025 at the latest - also as a consortium of business and science - for the Berlin-Brandenburg regional pre-selection for this year's ERCI Innovation Awards.
ERCI - Strong for SMEs from the railway industry
The ERCI - European Railway Clusters Initiative unites 18 railway technology clusters with members from 17 European countries (in addition to Germany, from France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Türkiye).
Regional preselection Berlin-Brandenburg until 12 May
The European selection is preceded by a regional preselection, for which you can apply until 12 May 2025, 24:00 CEST (UTC+2). Applications for the Berlin-Brandenburg regional pre-selection can be submitted in German or English.
What we need:
- Application Form (please note the maximum number of characters)
- 5 slides (in ppt format) describing the innovation in more detail
- Meaningful, press-ready photos of the innovation (with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and citation of the image source)
- Optional: additional documents to illustrate the innovative product/service/project presented (e.g. certification reports...), naming the applicant and the innovation submitted.
As a result of the regional pre-selection, the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport, Mobility and Logistics Cluster Management will nominate up to three applications for the European competition.
This year's award ceremony will take place at EXPO Ferroviaria in Milan on 30 September 2025.

- The competition rules (Regulations) of the ERCI Innovation Awards 2025 apply accordingly to the Berlin-Brandenburg regional pre-selection.
- Applications for the Berlin-Brandenburg regional preselection must be sent to lutz.huebner@berlin-partner.de by 12 May 2025, 24:00 CEST (UTC+2) at the latest.
- Participation in the European competition is exclusively by nomination of those cluster organisations that are members of the ERCI. Direct applications for the European finals are not possible.
