Joint German-Canadian Innovation Program
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and NRC IRAP, the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program, have once again published a joint call for research and development projects for 2026.
To facilitate cooperation with international partners, the BMWE has concluded agreements with several countries on joint innovation funding for SMEs and has launched cross‑border calls. The procedures for evaluating and approving funding applications are coordinated among the participating countries.
Against this background, the BMWi will continue the joint calls for German‑Canadian innovation projects in 2026. Funding is provided through national programmes — for the German partners through the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM).
The submission deadline is 19 June 2026.

The responsible project management agency, AiF Projekt GmbH, and the Enterprise Europe Network invite you to an information webinar on 5 March 2026 from 4pm to 5:30pm (CET), to learn more about funding opportunities through ZIM and NRC IRAP, as well as to gain insights beyond the scope of the call.
The webinar will be held in English.
