Prevention meets Simulation - Innovation in Response to Coronavirus
In this webinar rail professionals will be able to talk to companies from the ERCI network, whose innovative solutions tackle the Corona crisis – also far beyond the railway industry.
On the one hand, you can look forward to the German company CleanTec Lighting, which has been involved in combating airborne pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, yeast fungi and spores since 2015, i.e. long before the corona crisis. The result is an air sterilization and lighting system called “CleanTec Air!”, which is registered with the patent office under patent rights and uses innovative UV-C radiation to kill up to 99.9 percent of pathogens, including those that are very similar to COVID-19 in their structure and symptoms.
On the other hand, the Milan-based company D&T Srl developed in 2014 a software for crowd simulation, able to reproduce the behavior of large number of individuals in various situations, successfully used for small and mid scale crowd dynamics analyses. In 2020, following the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, SIMUGENS has been expanded with a set of functionalities focused on the dynamics of the infections in large crowds and on the evaluation of possible mitigation solutions.
The participants of this webinar can look forward to an open exchange with regard to potential, possible applications and limits of the technologies as well as cooperation and business opportunities.
