10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
What to expect?
In this ERCI Webinar you will learn about the use of AI and video analytics technology for smarter rail maintenance.
The first presentation will hold by InspectRail – a spin-off from CEIT which is a technology centre with more than 40 years of experience in developing innovative technologies for the railway sector, and a founding member of Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking. Based on this strong background, InspectRail is advancing a 360° approach to railway infrastructure monitoring, combining continuous data collection with advanced analysis tools. Within this approach, video analytics plays an important role by adding visual context, enabling remote supervision and supporting automated anomaly detection.
At second, the webinar will present IKIM, IKOS Consulting’s industrial framework for railway predictive maintenance, based on Online Machine Learning and expert systems. Predictive maintenance is a key opportunity for the railway sector, with strong potential to improve asset availability, reduce maintenance costs and support more reliable operations. Yet, despite successful pioneering projects, its large-scale deployment remains limited due to the complexity of railway systems, the diversity of data sources and the need for deep domain expertise. Building on 15 years of field experience and a major railway predictive maintenance success story, IKIM combines proven expert systems, field feedback and hybrid artificial intelligence to shorten development cycles, accelerate deployment and bring advanced diagnostic capabilities to a broader range of railway stakeholders. The presentation will explore how predictive maintenance can move beyond isolated success stories towards scalable and replicable solutions, with concrete perspectives for rolling stock, infrastructure and operator-oriented applications.

About ERCI
This webinar is organised by the ERCI - European Railway Clusters Initiative. ERCI comprises 18 research and innovation-oriented railway technology clusters, covering 17 countries. ERCI represents over 3.600 enterprises and research institutes including over 2,300 SMEs and aims to promote innovation and the development of new business opportunities as a means to sustainably strengthen competitiveness within the European railway industry. ERCI promotes cooperation between industry and research, initiates innovation projects, organises B2B meetings and workshops. This also includes promoting visibility and networking at EU level.
