Are you a company from the mobility industry?
Are you an SME, mid-cap or large company in the mobility industry, e.g. B. Rail Vehicle Manufacturer / Rolling Stock (OEM, or Supplier for Mechanical Parts, electronics and Control Systems, batteries...), Producer of Composite Materials, manufacturer of plastic components, Maintenance Service Provider, Engineering and Design Company, Mobility Operator (Rail, Public Transport, Logistics), Infrastructure Manager?
What are your challenges?
Are any of these questions or something similar on your agenda at the moment?
-
Eco-design & lifecycle optimization: How can we design rail vehicles and components to minimize environmental impact across the entire lifecycle while maintaining performance, safety, and cost competitiveness?
-
Advanced materials (composites, plastics, lightweight structures): Which advanced materials or material combinations can deliver lightweighting and durability improvements while remaining cost-effective and scalable for industrial rail applications?
-
Recyclability & circularity: How can we improve the recyclability and reuse of mixed material components (e.g., composites, plastics, electronics) at scale within existing rail and mobility value chains?
-
Batteries & energy storage sustainability: What innovative solutions can enhance the sustainability, second-life use, and end-of-life recovery of batteries used in rail and mobility applications?
-
End-of-life recovery & reserve logistics: How can we develop efficient, economically viable system for disassembly, material recovery, and reverse logistics of rolling stock and infrastructure assets at end-of-life?
Then we would be happy to help you find innovative solution providers who can work with you to develop an innovative solution approach to your specific challenge.
Hack & Match – What’s in it for you?
We, the European Railway Clusters Initiative (ERCI) and the European Lightweight Clusters Alliance (ELCA) officially launched the ERCI/ELCA Joint Hack & Match Event “Design the Future, Hack the Waste: The Full-Lifecycle Mobility Challenge”
Hack & Match is an innovative online format and a unique opportunity for you to connect with innovative solution providers (tech-savvy SMEs, researchers and technology experts) from across Europe to co-develop innovative solutions based on advanced technologies. If you are interested in presenting your critical full-lifecycle mobility challenges through collaborative innovation you are encouraged to submit your challenge until 20 June 2026.
This is what the Hack & Match schedule looks like:
- Call for Challenges: open until 20 June 2026
- Call for Solutions: open from 20 June to 10 July 2026
- Online Hack & Match Event: 21/22 July 2026
- The 2 winning teams are invited to visit the InnoTrans trade show in Berlin.
