In 2024, Colas Rail UK tested Sulnox Eco Fuel Conditioner in two settings: four tampers in Rugby (April–December) and Class 66/37 locomotives in York (October–December). Emissions were measured by Socotec and Cura Terrae.
Results showed clear improvements after using Sulnox Eco:
- 4.5% better fuel efficiency in locomotives
- 63.2% less Carbon Monoxide
- 47.5% less Sulphur Oxide
- 32.6% reduction in PM2.5 and 30.4% in PM10
Significant emissions and fuel savings were observed across both trials.
